Ascham has a new website.
Ascham has delivered high quality education since 1886, and stands proudly as an independent girls’ school that centres its teaching and learning around the Dalton Plan.
2022 sees the School celebrate a century of Dalton so it was an ideal opportunity to review the communication structure for this unique and immersive framework. We were asked to reimagine how Ascham could present all that it has to offer in a differentiated way — from teaching and learning across K to Year 12 to its facilities, co-curricular activities, leadership programs, history and plans for the future.
We undertook an extensive review of all current website content and wider communications materials, as well as discussions with staff to determine an overarching direction for the new site.
Given the importance of Dalton for students and teachers, we planned how the new site could become more editorial in its style, presenting more ‘in practice’ content and the positive impact and outcomes of an Ascham education. We ditched the expected style of a homepage video and lists of things on offer, instead opting to wrap the ‘what we do’ with more evidence-based content directly from the girls, teachers and Old Girls. The result, we believe, is an immersive experience that clearly sets out what Ascham is and does in a well-structured and appealing way, while differentiating it from its peers.
Our scope covered the complete range of requirements, from research, planning and concepting, to design, copywriting, photography, build, content population and launch.
