Abbotsleigh website

This prestigious girls’ school in Wahroonga has been providing high quality education since 1885, in its own words, ‘empowering young women to embrace the world with confidence, competence and compassion’.

The previous website provided a very simple, single-depth style of content presentation, and lacked the structured ‘storytelling’ that helps set the school apart. In addition, there was little opportunity to provide more tailored content to different types of audience.

In order to address these critical requirements, our approach started with some simple planning exercises, to help identify the why, what and who. Through a series of workshops we define audience groups and a relevant user experience framework, drawing on these to develop the overarching concept.

This concept was developed in close collaboration with the school project team, in order to ensure content requirements could be integrated successfully and allow the storytelling element to be weaved within.

We provided guidance on editing and rewriting content to suit the new structure and from an approved concept developed the final design taking the opportunity to enhance the brand language and embed a stronger visual story.
The site was built and launched on ElcomCMS (with whom we work closely on a wide range of web and intranet projects), again in close partnership with the school.
