Creating an authentic, student-led video series that reveals the energy, diversity and global spirit of life at International Grammar School.

International Grammar School is known for its globally minded approach to learning and its vibrant, diverse community.

When the School asked us to represent this through film, the initial brief centred on a single whole-of-school “hero” video. Instead, we proposed a more intimate, authentic approach: a suite of student-narrated films that would allow individual voices, experiences and perspectives to shine. Through a structured four-day shoot, we captured real conversations, real moments and real learning, enabling IGS to tell its story in a way that feels human, warm and deeply reflective of its culture.

Process

  • Reframing the brief: Shifted from a single, generic hero video to a series of smaller, student-focused narratives that conveyed depth and authenticity.
  • Story and structure planning: Developed guiding questions and loose narrative outlines for each student to prompt reflection while avoiding scripted responses.
  • Immersive onsite shoot: Filmed across the entire city campus, capturing candid interactions, classroom experiences, language moments and the rhythm of daily school life.
  • Student-led interviews: Spent one-on-one time with students at different stages of their learning journey, prioritising natural expression and genuine insight.
  • Production and editing: Created a suite of polished student-voice videos, supported by a broader summary piece that ties the narratives together.
  • Multi-platform adaptation: Produced short-form edits for social media and website use, ensuring consistent tone and visual identity.

  • A vibrant, student-centred video series that captures the authentic voices, energy and individuality of IGS students.
